The 2016-2017 School Year is Almost Here

Kelso will host two Orientation meetings to share information in preparation for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year. Attending an Orientation is recommended for any parents and students new to Kelso and any returning parents and students that would like to learn about the upcoming school year and the programs Kelso offers.

The first Orientation opportunity will be Monday, August 15th, 2016 at 8:00AM in the Kelso cafeteria/multipurpose room. Class assignments will be posted indicating the name of your student’s teacher and their classroom number. School supply lists will be available. Meet Principal Coffey and tour the Kelso campus. Dr. Coffey will review important information about first day of school procedures, the Inglewood Unified School district’s uniform and attendance policies, school safety procedures, and outline the extracurricular and after school programs that Kelso offers.

Another Orientation will be held Thursday, August 18th at 12:00PM followed by an Open House from 1:00-1:45PM. During this time parents and students may visit their new classroom and meet the teacher. All students in attendance will receive a Popsicle at this event.

We hope you can join us for one or both of these events!

School Uniforms Sale at Costco

ATTENTION PARENTS:

Costco is currently having a sale on school uniforms: $6.99 for boys navy shorts and girls skort, $8.99 for boys and girls navy pants, and $12.99 for a 2-pack of white polo shirts. What a deal!
If you will be doing some back to school shopping for your growing student, please consider donating any gently used uniform clothes he or she has outgrown to Kelso’ Uniform Donation Center in the main office. These clothes are given to families that may not be able to afford to buy new uniforms, and to students who have accidents or tear clothes during the school day.

We still had a very full Lost and Found at the end of last school year. The office is currently open if you would like to look for any articles of clothing your student may have left at school. All items still unclaimed on August 1 will be donated to a hospital in Mexico.
